Finally a brushless edition E-Maxx! And not the VXL twin!

If most hobby shops are like my local spot I know exactly why Traxxas is putting it out. Lots of people new to the hobby will come in and ask, which is fastest nitro or electric ect..... usual questions. And lots of times they just want to buy once, having it all in one package makes it more appealing. Just a guess though.

I really wish that Traxxas would offer an upgrade to the diffs, I like everything else about my Maxxes but the diffs and if they are going to continue to mass market the MMM combos they are eventually going to have to address it. That has been the only thing holding me back from an E-Revo. I think Losi has done a great job on the Monster Truck differential and even if you do manage to blow a stock one you can move up to heavier duty.

With regards to AE producing so many buggies/trucks/TCs, they have been mostly fresh platforms. T3 aand T4 share almost no parts, same for B3/B4, TC3/TC4/TC5, etc.

Back when the 2.5 T-Maxx was out there was...

T-Maxx - 4wd, 2 speed, reverse.
Sport-Maxx - 2wd, single speed, no reverse.
S-Maxx - 2nd, 2 speed, no reverse.

But don't hold your breath. I think TRX is more worried about numbers than any kind of Strenth related issue. Because the parts are so cheap most peoples don't care anyway.

What may be the worst part about this- is the fact they are including Nimh packs with a MMM.

First, this is going to make the rookies think that BL and Nimh are a good combination.

Second, it could potentially cause a major recall or at least a huge slew of returns for both Castle and Traxxas.

I have the feeling Castle may have been less than ecstatic about this idea...

We know damn well the kiddies are gonna try to run those packs down to half a volt per cell.

Makes the LHS super pissed too as its one less thing they have a chance to sell that might have a decent margin on. Meanwhile the customer gets to shell out for crap batteries no one wants.

Seems like the Emaxx is finally getting to be a proper truck. My 1st MT was an emaxx and I hated that weak POS. Could not get a pack thru that thing w/o a breakage. The revo update helped it alot, and now its got a nice motor. Still hate the bulks and chassis dog-ear design, but rest of the truck has come along way. Still wouldn't buy one tho...


As far as recycled parts..
One nice thing is that you know your truck will have a parts supply for a long time. Savages have had how many versions? Can't complain as they seem to improve ea time creating a very nice truck. Plus parts are cheap and plentiful.
Sucks to buy a car and it good for a yr or 2 before its discontinued and you have to scour ebay for used parts to keep it going.

I know this isn't a 100% apples to apples comparo. But they saw how well the Savage Flux was doing...

my first brushless truck was an original e-maxx with the novak 4400 hvmaxx


i kind of miss it, dont get me wrong its was slow and heavy with 14cell 3300's

im sure people will buy this new one but i also think that the batterys are going to fry quickly and thats going to turn alot of people off to this hobby
