808e Neu 1512 clearance question - 10.24.2009, 09:26 PM

Hi. I've an 808 I'm converting to electric. I've installed the RCM motor mount and have found that when I attempt to install my Neu 1512 (finned) motor it hits the nearby mud guard mounting nut.

I see that people were removing the nut and dremeling off a bit of the plastic when using the XB8 mount. Is this still what needs to be done?

Thanks.

I (and many others) have used Mike's 808 mount with much success.

The nut does need to be removed, though you don't neccesarily need to remove the plastic surround as well.

This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

Thanks. Just wanted confirmation before I started cutting. I removed the nut and trimmed the surround a bit and the motor fits fine.
