Scorpion motors??

Does anyone know what the comparison in sizing is between NEU motors and these new Scorpion motors. I hear they are excellent motors. I was hoping they had a 1400KV motor I could use in place of a 1515 3D to try on 6S. But not sure how you would compare the two. The HK3026-1400KV looked interesting and also the HK4020-1390KV. Are they smaller or bigger motors. Look at the specs...the continuous watts seems to be higher then the NEU 1515's and they are 8 pole motors instead of 4 pole.

Those are outrunner motors.

The 3026 has a stator that is 30mm in diameter and 26mm long
The 4020 has a stator that is 40mm in diameter and 20mm long

I see the naming system, but how does that compare to a 1515. Would either of those motors even work on a truggy/buggy?

Check the outside dimensions.

The 30xx line of motors have a 25mm mounting pattern using m3 screws.

I believe the 40xx line has a 30mm mounting pattern using m4 screws.

I have used outrunner motors with alot of success.

As far as eff% lets say in truggy with one of these motors.....how would it do. I'm new to the outrunner world. Are they more torquey or more eff% then say a NEU 1515? I was hoping to move to a 6S setup that would make good power and long runtimes to run these new 60min mains the Nitro's are doing. How does length effect the motor? I see they are a good bit shorter then a NEU even though the diameter is the same or close.

As the pole number increases, so does the torque.

Neu makes a great motor, but I'm not sure how they compare on the eff%.

Larger Stator Length and Diameter both mean bigger torque numbers AND usually lower KV.

You'll see this as you compare different sizes of outrunners.

Plan on gearing it high if you go this route.

60 minute mains? Are you allowed a battery change? What top speed are you looking for? How heavy is your truck?

Yes we can swap batts, but more then 1 swap takes you out of contention...as it adds alot of extra time. Truggy is ~9.5lbs and only ~38mph. My new setup I'm running is 1515 3D..(1360KV) on 6S 5800mah.
