For me there was no two ways about it, I had to cut it to get to either jumper. Kind of sucks, but that's the way it is.

As I have found out, plugs make it much easier to switch motor wires around if your motor is going in the wrong direction.

With the BK controllers you can program it to reverse the direction so you can go ahead and solder the wires.
