Sure! The pinion is actually a crappy Novak pinion. I usually run Mike's RCM pinions, but I had to switch spur-gears and the only pinion I had that was the right size for the new spur was one of my old Novak pinions. trust me, don't buy Novak pinions, they are horrible...they are not truly round, the teeth are not profiled correctly, they are cast instead of machined.

Cool, Thanks! I'm doing a deal with a forum member to sell my 2650kv motor and get the 2200kv like you recommended. Then I'm going to lock my tranny in 2nd, move the ESC to a lower cg position (with your generous help), and change out my motor mount for one that can accomadate regualar pinions with the longer motor. Im trying to decide whether to go with a the new style tekno black motor mount or Mike's. Miek's is $5 more, and the Tekno one will match my balck chassis. Still not decided on which one though as durablility is more important the looks to me. PM me about the ESc mount.

Go with Mike's mount, there is no other choice...the Tekno mount requires either the Electri-Clutch or Long-Shank Pinions, and it just isn't as good as Mike's...PERIOD!

Oh, which piece do you want me to make as your ESC mount?

Cool, Mikes it is then! I would like the carbon fiber piece on the side of the chassis where the mechanical brake servo is on the nitro version, like the one in your pics. It will be for a MMM ESC, maybe you could even put in holes for the plastic mount from the ERBE.

Oh, the new tekno mount doesn't need the long shank pinions, but I think i will go with Mike's anyways.

One more Q. Do you think i should go with the standard or wide 2nd gear. Standard with 36T spur, 17T pinion is geared for about 41 m.p.h., and wide with the same spur and pinion is about 44 m.p.h. Tjhat gearing should be just fine right? No over heating problems on 4s?

And on a third thought (LOL), I see you made a cf chassis stiffener that attaches with the motor mount. Have you experienced hotter temps because the motor mount isn't acting as as much of a heatsink now? It looks real good though.

Good call on Mike's Revo motor-mount, it is the best!

I recommend using standard-ratio gears, because it's easier to gear above or below.

No, I have not experienced any higher temps due to my CF brace between the motor and the motor-mount.

Also, Yea, I can create the ESC mount in the place you want, and have mounting holes for the TRX MMM Mount.

what exactly do you mean by it's easier to gear above or below? would you think it would be better to have Std gears, 36T spur, 18 pinion geared for 43 m.p.h. or wide gears, 36T spur, 17t pinion for estimated 44 m.p.h.?

If you have close-ratio gears, you don't have as much room to gear up...if you have wide-ratio gears, you don't have as much room to gear down...if you have standard-ratio gears, you have much more room to gear up or gear down, and aren't limited by an already high or low ratio.

I gear for 40mph, but as long as you have the right battery(s), you can gear for whatever speed you want. For me, 40mph is perfect for the area I run in. If you want to gear higher than 40mph, you will need 150A or higher batteries.

My Turnigy 5000mah 4s 40c batts pack at least 200A, so I'm not worried there. For now, I think I'll go with the standard gear and the 18T pinion, and if it's too much I'll get the 17T which will bring it down to about 40 m.p.h. And let me know when you get the ESc mount done, there is no rush, but just so i know when to expect it. Thanks!

Yea, I run either a Turnigy 40C 4S 5000mAh (200A) pack or a pair of Zippy 30C 4S 2650mAh packs in parallel (4S @ 5300mAh & 159A) in my Revo.

And one thing that you said that I agree with completely. a lot of people complain that the conversions are unbalanced, but mine is near perfect (with the slightly heavier 2200kv motor I believe it will be spot on) as is yours. My center balance point is basically right under the transmission, and this truck rights itself in almost every situation.

Oh yea! Using a single digital scale under each tire at a time, my truck is balanced front to back and left to right within just a few grams! I am going to buy 3 more identical scales so I can get a truly accurate balance measurement.

ok now i have a new question the ground out here is covered in 1.5 to 2 inch gravel is there a set up that will help on this stuff, so far i have started to run
badlands tires
RPM front and rear A-arms
alu shock mounts
a center one way drive shaft (to stop wheelys)

i have also added the push rods to stiffen the rear bulk head. I haven't broke anything but bodies, but my friend can turn alot sharper at speed than i can just trying to figure it out
