Stretched revo conversion - 06.01.2010, 07:24 PM

So,I've been eyeing some 7075 t-6 Al at my local machinist shop and have thought of a decently easy project for my personal graduation present.
I'd like to make a double deck layout similar to a g-revo chassis but streched, running and emaxx tranny and make custom shock towers to accomodate 1/8 buggy big bore shocks to basically make the erevo XL that never was. But I do have a few questions:

has anyone else done this?
If so how long did you make it? I was thinking savage xl length so I can still have a large body selection,or should I just make the leap to a 1/6 scale truck and run FG bodies?
I personally beleive the revo shocks are already insufficient for the truck, and I think I can easily fit buggy shocks in a lengthened chassis, anyone else agree or have any ideas/suggestions?
If anyone has any input or ideas I'd love to hear them!
