Castle Neu 2200kv bad bearing? - 06.25.2010, 12:41 PM

I have a brand new MMM V3 combo with the 2200kv motor for my mbx6. I finished my build yesterday and I've been to the track this afternoon to test it.
I ran 2 lipo's with 13/46 gearing. My motor was around 63°C after each run, so temps were good.

When I came home and did a check up of my buggy I found out that there was play on my motor shaft. I compared it to my other 2200kv motor (that is 4 months old) and that motor is still in perfect shape.

I tried to remove the bearing and go to the hardware store but I can't get the bearings out of the end bells. I guess the rear bearing is still fine. Just the front one has play in it.

Anyone had this problem too?

Play in rotor or bearing? The rotor is designed to float a little 1-2mm and settle into its "optimum" poistion.

It's play in the bearing. You lift the shaft up and down, and right and left. I know it's normal you can push/pull it a bit.
When it's spinning free I makes a loud noise :(

Hmm. You can tap it out using a wooden dowel & a hammer- they are glued in as standard.

Could I get an opinion of Castle? I was very busy the last month, but I think I'll send them an email soon.

Shoot me a PM with your shipping info, and I'll send you a replacement front end-bell with bearing.

Thanx!
