One important tip I'll throw at you- don't make ANY lightening holes until you are 100% certain where all the components and batts are going. Test run it a few times first also, that will tell you where you need to remove weight.

For the CVD end placement it really doesn't matter, but it looks like you already have drive cups on the trans, so the diff end would be the logical choice?

Very cool solution using the LST trans, pretty sure that's a first...
Nice job Jeffy!

I agree on waiting on the lightening holes, it was the plan anyway.

Thanks for the advice and kudos my friend.

Awwww, Jeffy

Very interesting; the LST tranny puts a different spin on it for sure.

What is the gear reduction for the LST tranny as compared to the Flux one?

However, why is the tranny so high in the sky? I would have have thought you'd want it as low as possible.

I was able to install the battery tray, ESC/RX Tray and make the center CVD's today. The rear CVD was a cinch, I had a MIP LST gen 1 center CVd and it was a perfect fit !!! The front one I had to make from the other MIP axle (see pic)

Heres the front and rear assemblys installed

And a pic for scale

Sunday I will be doing the final things like knocking out holes to lighten it, file all the edges and figure out what I'm going to do to "FINISH" the chassis.
I might scuff it directionally so looks like Stainless or possibly "Tool" it with a scrotchbrite pad. I even thought about purple candy w/Clear Coat to make it look like purple anodizeing to match the HPI parts ??????????????????? IDK

Flux- 44/18 X 28/32
LST2- 23/22 X 30/15 and has the ability to have up to a 68T spur

Sorry to dissapoint but thats as low as it can go with the TVPs and have some metal underneath it, I'd rather of had it lower myself but look at the last pic above of it sideways . The trans case is 1/2" from the bottom, I wanted plenty of material underneath it for strenth. I believe the over all COG is gonne be roughly the same as a Flux maybe a bit lower ?

Thanks Cory, I'm going to start off with 1/2" offset rims and go from there.

Chassis is finished ! My Gaaa, what a PITA !
I've made numerous T-Emaxx,1/8 scale flat chassis and several custom spin offs of my own but this was by far the worst yet. The biggest problem was I used to thick of material (3/16"), it made the job a lot harder than it needed to be.

Tools used were a Jig saw, 3" angle grinder, metal hole saw kit, cordless drill & bits and hand files.

Final weight is ..........................1lb 13.7ozs CHUNKY

Ouch! You cut all those holes with a jig saw?

Looks good tho! I take it that you are pretty set on the location of everything?

No, I have a metal hole saw kit.

Yup, everything has it's place. Batterys in front, ESC in the rear & RX ?
Everything seemed pretty balanced in mock up, I'm content w/it anyway. Hopefully I didn't overlook nothing.

I didn't make the progress I expected I would today considering having the day to myself but due to a few unforseeables I did mange a bit.

I had to spend a lot of time getting the steering where it needed to be, I had wanted to order a aluminum drag link but I guess I forgot, the stock plastic peice of shiz was dragging big time on the FLM bulkhead. I tried using a few different links I had in the "treasure drawer" but nothing worked so I had to dremeled the stocker. I did however order a Aluminum link via Fleabay today, hope the farkin thing fits ?

Trans is in, as well as battery & ESC tray.

I think I can manage nearly a full lenth skid plate out of these pieces,Bonus ...

Looks unholy... except it's really holey!

I wonder if 3/16" will do it...

Yikes, I would not want to be hit by that!

Coming along well
