There are a few folks that have reached 35+ mph with the stock e-maxx drivetrain. It is much easier to accomplish this with a brushless system, though. You could look at it as if it is an expensive way to achieve a few mph, but there are several other benefits in addition to the speed/power increase. Runtime/efficiency is one such advantage. Also, the brushless systems require little to no maintenance (while the titans will wear out) and will perform equally well years down the road. For similar performance to the Novak HV system, I would say the Lehner basicxl 2400 or 2800 motor and warrior 9918 controller would be a close matchup. These systems can take more voltage as well, so they could easily drastically outperorm the Novak, but on 12 cells, they would be close in performance (2800 will likely be slightly faster).
