Personally I would be contacting the seller and getting my money back. Ebay and PayPal have great buyer protection plans in place for situations just like this. If it was said to be in working condition and it is not, you have the right to get your money back. If the seller refuses, I would personally do a chargeback through PayPal.

Of course with international shipping rates, sending it back may cost more than just biting the bullet and sending it in for non-warranty repair. We have a $70.00 non-warranty replacement on the Monster. If you send us the dead unit, the $70 will include a replacement controller, shipping back to you and a new one year warranty under your name.
