Shame you didn't enjoy the beastly custom version you made, however I totally understand your position on it. I'm building a DB17 at the moment, and have considered cutting my own TVPs to go bigger... But I thought about it, and having had an RB3 kit from GCM before I have come to the conclusion that they know what they are doing. A lot of the products are feedback based and if they thought a 20 inch + version would be good I'm sure they would be marketing it.

At that weight and size you are going to push the envelope of what the parts are going to take and also most likely have a negative effect on the handling of the truck. To be honest at the moment I'm even reconsidering the XL chassis length, the only thing that keeps me going is the astounding lightness of the GCM trucks you guys are getting.

To be honest, when the Flux originally surfaced I was in a position to buy one, but chose to build up an RB3 instead, based on the fact it used an E-savage as a base truck (mine was a custom build from the ground up, but it used a few E-sav parts) reasoning that a truck that had only ever been envisioned as a nitro vehicle, whose weight was it's own worst enemy and whose drivetrain up to that point had only ever had to deal with some fruity nitro motors was only going to obliterate itself when confronted with something as brutal as a Neu motor. The RB3 only needed a good quality 50-60mm motor on 3s to be as quick as a flux on 4s, and the weight saving was tremendous, mine was 3.7kg ready to run yet was the same length and width as a standard Flux.

Now though I have come round to the Flux, figuring I'd give it a pop and see what happened. The tranny worries me a tad...

The flux tranny is strong with the HD gears.
