Look at it this way, a vise is just a large heat sink.

Unless the vise is made of plastic instead of metal .

I I looked at that one and it seemed well made and versatile. But the jig from Vigilante seemed better suited to my needs.

I've bought it but it's useless.

The jigs subtracts heat from the connectors you are welding (not the case of the deans) and this is a bad thing. Worst 20$ spent in rc equipment.

I have "The Jigs Up". It works great. They even have an updated version now that allows you to rotate a deans connector both ways. The nicest thing about using a jig vs. a pliers with rubber band is that you don't mar up any of the bullet connectors.

How can plastic draw heat from the connector? All I use it for is deans. It allows for a quick, clean joint with having to hold a hot wire with your fingers. If you feel it is useless I think you may be using it wrong.

Try to read what i've wrote into the (). You can use it to solder the deans, but if you use it to solder round connectors the jig works like a heat sink and this is a bad thing when you are welding. Deans are to small for my use so, for me, the jig is useless.
