Savage Flux 5b offroading

Everything was in the 30°C ambient only clutch at the end of video got to a 111°C i could even smell it, cooled down fast as weather was 7°C.
Had few issues with slipper as it was tightened all the way and got lose, will try to use 2 of those suckers, need to lock tight it totally.

Received tires and rims for "bajas", just need to get hexes and i am good to go.
Also got the HPI baja 5b bumper set "part number 85420", will try somehow to install the sucker so i can use baja roll cage.

Tire/rim info:

- Outer tire diameter 175 mm
- Tire and rim width 62 mm
- Rim inner diameter 119 mm
- Weight for one tire and rim combo is 375 gramms

hi bud! The videos are awesome!
They are both performing really well...

Silly quesiton here, but are you just using a body clip pin to hold the wing on the stock body mounts??? Or another method? Any closer pics?

THANKS

Josh

That's what I did... the Savage body mount posts fit perfectly with the Baja 5B wing, then I just used some heavy duty body clips.

Hi Jah!
As thzero sad, only body post are holding the wing and baja 5b wing is perfect fit. Thanks for comments :)
Hope u make video soon of ur red devil!

But wing is not 100% stabilized it is moving a little. Would recomend some washers or something in between to fill the gap/space and to act as a support for the wing.

There isn't a lot of room, because the body posts aren't that tall where they fit through the wing. I think I found some thin washers to use... spray paint them black or something so they don't stand out.

No problem Jah!

Well, there is always another way and yes washer would help a lot.
But this is only for now..i intend to use wing holder.
Dejan will help a lot here i think :)

BUT but but

First amrs...well i intend to use xl arms after that i will see.
But my arms wont be nothing special as i want to keep the price as low as possible, will be cut from 7075 T6 aluminium.
Upper arms i will use those that i already got. Only longer screw that comes in upper arms to adjust the lenght.

Today received these..and i know i should keep away from Integy stuff, but i will give these a try.
Payed way to much for them but they do look beefy.

knez, those integy hubs are very good! Offer very gd turning circle too! Nice Buy!

Hmmm... im just trying to think how i would use dejan for a wing holder, but i cant see how it would work. I want to avoid any alloy bits around those areas as my wing gets absolutely battered on roll overs.

Loking great knez! and for this special sunday:

I wouldnt mind all that copycat/bashcat talk. Integy parts ? Hm isn't that a rip off of the original HPI steering rack ? JK. Weights ?

Alza racing is probably the better dealer, awesome shipping too. Hoped I could have some 5mm CF tvp's but turns out he's okay with custom tvp's (in 5mm alu)

btw those FLM arms, whats the diff between FLM41500 and 41510, everything's the same, even the price and 20013.jpg picture ? i suppose the 41500 are 9x123mm dogbones, and 41510 11x123mm ?

the dogbones from alza, are they steel ? howcome you ordered flm drive shafts, and then be gettin the arms from alza ?

Jah, yes i tested the integy hubs and diference between them and stock is like night and day. I am never using stock again.

Erghh i do agree, to use Dejan for a wing would be a bit dificult, lol, hmmm, maybe he could just cut something out. I want to use baja roll cage at the end anyway.

Hi Aero :) Well integy hubs did cost, was like 95$ + tax.
Must say these do solve a lot of small "problems", like gap between the hubs, better turning. Now it is all nice and tight.

Alza is a great shop and he is a great guy, i know :)
That is why i buy there everything i need. Waiting for XL arms for FLM dogbones.

On FLM site they say both kits are Extended.... dont know what is the diference.

Alza dogbones are stainless steel. I ordered FLM dogbones as price is good.
Arms will do alza as this way i get them a lot cheaper..i also dont pay tax this way.

Small update: Foty had head on chrash.
-Broken front bulk
-Twisted braces, one in bulk and lower one that holds skids
-Broken Diff output pins
-Broken gears
-Cracked diff cup
-Diff screw broken

here few pic.

Not finished HPI product:

All this is now fixed and hes 5b is rtr again. We also changed oil in hes diffs.
50W front 30W back. And foty has 23/44T gearing, dont know why i thought he got 20/44T.

Because of motor pinion screw always going lose, i mounted hes motor pinion with M4 screw M4x6mm for 23T m. pinion. Pinion is turned other way around and secured.

I only turned my sevo for 90 degrees and cutted the body, now it sits nicer.

I am having problems with slipper screw. It is getting lose and my 44T diataches from slipper kit. Will try to use 2 nuts and red locktite. Hope this will hold.
