want to go brushless with my e-maxx - 10.06.2006, 09:24 PM

i have tried searching but i get confused with all the options. My e-maxx curently has the gorilla maxx single speed conversion, steel idler, rear spool, and ue rear stell cvds. im running 14 cells. what is a good setup to compete with nitros.

First off, welcome to the forums! Get rid of the spool. It is hard as hell on the drivetrain, as well as makes it handle like crap. As for BL, I would go for a Neu 1515 and a Quark 125, but...A Feigao C XL will be a good motor as well, but the Neu is the best you can get. It's definately worth the extra money. And again, welcome to the forums. I hope you like it.

one of the reasons i went to the spool was cause i kept tearing right through the rear diff. what do u think i should put in as a diff? what kind of performance will i get with the Neu 1515 and the Quark 125? also i noticed theres 3 diff Neu 1515's each with a diff kv rating which is the amout of power im guessing. which one do u reccomend?

The different KV ratings are of RPM's per volt. You multiply the KV times the total voltage and thats your motor RPM's. I would shoot for around 35K. You should get 40+ mph pretty easy on 14 cells. As for diffs, what I would do is get the FLM hybrid bulkheads and some HB Lightning diffs. There a little expensive, but WELL worth it.

im only 16 so i cant really fund all this...what would be the second best way for the diffs? and is there maybe a little bit cheaper brushless setup that is still good?

Yea, the Feigao C XL motors would be a great motor as well and there less than half the price of the Neu.

For my E-maxx I ran the Warrior 9920 with the Feigao 9L.

For diffs I ran the FLM diff cups and never had a rproblem. just make sure you get the Steel idler gears that mike sells and a UBEC.

I still have a brand new 9L. Its been soldered but thats it.
