Seriously though, the 8XL is rated for 1875 rpm/v. If you increase the voltage by 4.4v (from 14.8v to 19.2v), you will be increasing the total rpm by over 8,000 rpm! Depending on the gearing, tires, weight, etc, that can easily translate to 10mph...on paper.

In the real world, you won't get that speed. When you run the motor hard, the heavy battery current will cause some voltage drop. And since you are running more voltage through the same motor and same vehicle load (gearing, weight), you are going to pull more current, which will result in more voltage drop. So, 16 cells will seem more like 15 cells speed-wise because of this drop.

This is why I have so many volts/cell options. You can use 1.2v/cell for a nominal speed rating. But then you can also use 1.1v for a more realistic voltage when running the batteries hard.

yes it does i am going with the max amps 2 2s packs on a 7xl with heatsink standard size tires and 18t gearing does this sound good/safe/reliable.
