Anyone here running 8s LIPO? - 01.12.2007, 09:14 PM

Anyone running 8S Lipo? Reason I ask is because I just had a great breakthrough on my rusty/pede heat problems. I had an 8000mah 3S2P $170 maxamps battery I let run to low and wrecked one of its sells. Since it was wrecked, I decided to just turn it in to a 4000mah 4S. After running it in my pede(MM ecs & Lenher Basic XL motor), it doesn't get hot anymore. Heck, it hardly even gets warm. So. Now I am a VERY FIRM believer in using high voltage. I have a huge stack of Maxamps 2S2P LIPO's I now want to convert over to 4S. I am in the process of getting a G2R Revo. So if I converted all of my batteries over to 4S(I have 5 8000mah and 4 6000mah 2S2P) then I could use the same packs in both my rusty/pedes and my Revo. Just use 2 packs in the Revo. So that’s why I'm wondering if trying to run a Revo on 8S is going to be realistic. What do you guys think?

One more thing. When Mamba Monster Max comes out I want to get one for the Revo. Any chance it will be able to handle 8S lipo?

To my understanding the mmm is supposed to take 8s lipo.
You just need a motor to run close to 35000 rpm with that voltage on it.
I have ran 26 cells of nimh before going lipo.
I am getting ready to test 12s limn out on a gtx2.

Peace!

Would a Lehner 1940/10 be slow enough for 8S lipo?

I've run 8S Lipo with the CC HV110 and a 12XL on my G2R
As I've mentioned in other threads, the HV110 had a little feature that forced me to give it up :007: :007: :007:
I was a little apprehensive plugging in 8S the first time (lots of power there). The 12XL got hot pretty quick though. I just bought a MGM 9032 which will work with pistal grip TX's. Once the MGM arives, I'll try 8S again.

I ran a 36120 bk micro.
Promod around here runs 9s lipo as well.
Startscream: Is that a 90 amp esc rated for 32 cells? Let me know how that works out.
Did you consider the 3695 mike sell to?

From my understanding, Promod was not able to keep his SuperMaxx on the ground with the 2240/10 and 9s.

The Kontronik Power Jazz is able to handle lipo 15S, 120Ampere with 200Ampere of peak but it's not cheap :)
They say it's bullet proof ... they say you can have cables as long as you want ...
they say it has a inversion polarity protection ... they say it's "antispark" pluggable ...
and a lot more.
On the paper it seems to me to be really a First Class ESC.
I don't know about the brake and the reverse.

Ciao,

Hi Daniele! long time no see!

I mentioned that controller a week back; Daf heard it was without a proportional brake! which is bad for a car-controller.

Leroy, Yes its 90AMPS 32CELLS
The Power Jazz looks great but the MGM I got was over half the price so I'll see how it goes. The proportional brake isn't neccessary for me since I'm using manual brakes. :017:

What do I need to make a Mechanical brake?

Is it possible to use it with a Slippy equipped SuperMaxx?

Leroy,
I definetly considered the 3695 from Mike but the BK won't work with the NEU mtoros so I went with the MGM.

captain harlock,
This is totally unofficial but RCM may be looking into this for the slippy.
