I ran 5s on my Quark for the most part and it did fine. The only glitch I had was going for about 15min, then if I let off the throttle, it would not go again until I bumped the brake. This tells me that it's not a thermal issue, the Quark was not even hot (98*), so not sure. Have not tested the 4s in the heat yet, so we will see what happens with that. Other than that, I never had issues with the esc saving the settings. I have been told that if you use the lowest setting on all the settings, you will have better luck with the issues of heat and performance.

mine wouldn't fully arm until you hit the brakes. that means when turned on the first thing i had to do was hit the brakes and then it would arm and i could drive it. that just started for no reason out of the blue. the quark would save my settings sometimes and not save them other times, i have no clue on that.

I sometimes have to slightly apply the brake too for it to arm, but that's a good thing IMO. But I don't know about the saved settings thing - sounds like it was having problems...

I thought the 'arming' thing was standard? I guess if you had the throttle accidentally fulled, and you go to turn it on... you know what happens.

does seem like a nice feature, but maybe they should have mentioned it in the manual! also, when i first bought my quark i didn't have to hit the brakes to arm it, it just worked.:032:

When I first had mine, it would never do that. But it does now and has for a long time. It won't arm until I tap the brake.

It might have something to do with your netral setting on your Tx. If you've trimmed it since then (either on accident or purpose), that will affect the arming sequence.

Do you mean changing the throttle, brake and reverse setting? Not sure I have a nuetral setting that I can change?

It's usually called the "throttle trim" and every radio I've ever seen (even the stock Traxxas ones) has a trim. All it does is set the center set point.

Lol. I figured you knew what it was - I just didn't describe it well. Sounds like you need a break then! Play hookie from both for a day!
