I'm running a 25T pinion from a MLST in my "Recoil". I use quotes because it's actually a Carisma Nissan Skyline R32 which is essentially the exact same car minus the body and wheels, which I favor over the Sportwerks offering. I currently have a Hyperion Y-22 6000kv short can motor in there. It is very quick and top speed is pretty good as well. If I were to go to a track, I'd probably use this setup as it is. It does get a little hot after a few minutes, but I think adding a fan over the motor and ESC should tame things long enough to enjoy for a real race.
I have tried the Hyperion Yc-22 motors in my RC18 on 3s and I prefer the 5000, the long can will fit and IMO able to be geared up for speed without too much heat

I'm using the YC22-5000 in my MLST with stock gearing and 3S with no heat issue as well. Great little motor.
Short can. So it is the YCS22-5000. It's a strong motor. I had the YS22-3000 (might be 3600, I blanked out). One other thing, I think the Hyperion inrunners are 4 pole motors and some places states as 2 pole, but if you look inside the ones that have the openings, you can see it's a slotted design and it cogs just like my Aveox 27 and my small Razor motor.
My next motor will hopefully be the Medusa MR-028-032-4200V2 to run on 4s. I'm not a guy who only runs extremely high kv motors on 2s. It's good for bashing and maybe a long race so I can run 2s 2p, but that's not all I do.
