Speed ... very very fast....with rocket acceleration also...
TEMP : ESC 45deg cel; Motor: 70 to 95 deg cel.
FINALLY................ rotor torn apart...
Anyone can help..... and suggest......Thanks in advance
Question:
1. The rotor damage is due to too high temperature?
2. or due to Rotor Quality / Brushless Motor Efficiency not good?
3. The acceleration is very good, it made me very fun to have a quick acceleration especially after corning, is this also a reason for the failure..... Need to set to much soft acceleration?
4. If it is due to motor quality... and motor now in use having much power converted to heat.... then magnet rotor cannot survive and break... what kind of motor recommended....
5. Is the 1st/2nd transmission needed ..... to avoid too much overloading of the motor.. during acceleration?
6. Is the brake disc needed for reducing the motor loading?...... Now I am using the motor brake function...
Too many questions in my mind... but it is actually very fun for this first Brushless 960, so I really want to find out what is wrong .... and continue .....
your setup looks great. i have converted a 1/8 on road in the past and have seen quite a few online and have never come across anyone the blew their rotor. i am thinking it is the quality of your motor. if you want to stick with 4s i would recommend a Neu 1515 or 1512 1.5D or if you are willing to add some weight and go up to 6s then Neu 1515 1.5y or similar. just look at the KV ratings and go with what suits your needs but i am confident a Neu motor will hold up much better than the one you had previously. good luck.
