5700 meltdown - 07.31.2009, 11:40 PM

So i hade some troubles at the track today. I got 1 lap in an my sc10 shutoff i went back to the pits an noticed that my car had a smell to it. I took the body off an noticed that the bullet plugs on my reedy 4900 35c battery were melted an leaning over. Only thing i can think of is a couple of days before that my on off switch ripped out so i had to solder it back on i think mabey the solder is to close or touching the red power wire come off the esc. Any help ? i hope i did not destroy my battery an esc.

Not without more detailed information or close up macro pics. There could have been a number of causes.

My red motor wire melted off today wtf? Shouldn't the esc thermal before something like this happens?

ESC will not always thermal. ESC might have been fine and the wire might have had a bad connection somewhere. Bad connection will cause heat a wire to heat up.
