GS-Racing XUT conversion - 08.15.2009, 03:37 PM

Here is my first BL conversion.
A GS XUT pro truggy, first XUT I have seen BL converted.
My first attempt was to use Hobby Wing 150a esc and the 2000kv motor with 6s lipo.
The HW ESC lasted 10 min before it blew up, then I bought an Mamba monster ESC ,then the HW motor blew up.So now I use complete Mamba monster combo and it works well.

Of course it will blow up, 2000kv with 6s? Is 80km/h it's insane plus china motor can't take more than 70 over degrees.

Usually 2000kv we use 4s

I race 6s with 1600 medusa abt 50km/h no problem.

Sorry for my bad english writing.

My second setup for the XUT, I made a motor post from 4mm alu L-profile,used the orginale engine post holes in the chassis plate.Novak battery trays and Losi 8ight t mudgards .For the ESC I used a 3mm alu plate on the top off the middle diff post almost like RC-monsters post,so the ESC sits behind the diffpost above the driveshaft for the rear diff.I used a Traxxas Slash reciver tray and mounted it on top of the steering servo.

My brushless combo is Mamba monster 2200Kv,2x 4000mah 3s 30c lipo (cheap China battery)

So I can see no problem with 6s lipo on the Mamba monster at all.

MY spur gear is 58t mod1 and the pinion gear is 15t,but I will change to 13t

I run with open diffs to protect the drive train.

My XUT is built for bashing not for the race track.

So good luck with your conversion, keep me updated.

Bro, little grease or oil fill diff is still a diff won't save your drive train as jump or brake your drive train will still get jam up.

There's no slip action.

Ep 1/8 is direct drive unless u use a slip diff my Rc monster or tekno clutch system. Then it will save your drive train.

I see your point, but in my head (maybe its wrong) Im thinking that thicker diff olil will provide more stress to the drive train.Try to drive a car with locked diffs.Take a 2dw car under ekstreme acceleration only one wheel will "burne"slip ,if the diff has a thin or no diff oil.Off course you loose traction, and there will be less stress on the drive train?? I think the same goes for a 4wd car.So my conclusion less traction less stress.

But again I not racing just bashing. And my conclusion might be wrong.

no Matter how thick the oil unless it's lock diff then there's no differenial. That's what a diff is for.

Only 1/10 on road we use spool or lock diff.

In 1/8 if your oil is thin the wheel spin faster making it harder to drive. No matter bash or race we use diff oil rather than grease becoz grease when get hot is not consistant.

We usually use thin oil at the rear diff.

Btw 2wd 1/10 ep cars has slip diff. Same goes for higher range 4wd 1/10 cars they have slip clutch.

Ask anyone here who does 1/8 conversion. There's no such thing as using thin/grease oil to allow less strain to the drive train.

When the gear is jam it's jam. Take alook at slip clutch or slip diff they have springs n metal plates to allow slip.

Can I ask you a question woom? How did you make that electric motor plate? do you still have the plans for it? can you be so kind to send me the blue prints so I can make one myself? I was gonna use a savage tranny to eliminate the roll before it catches gear but I decided I don't really care.

ITs an rc monster motor mount

using a transmission throws all your ratios off.
