More "SCT" motors - 12.07.2010, 10:42 PM

when can we expect another motor or 2 to add to the SCT line of motors. How about a 1412 1D in the green flavor.... couple that with the MMP in a combo and call it a day.

i think the 1412 1D would be one hell of a 2s motor for the 4x4s that race on the largest of 8th scale tracks.

Rootar, are the 14xx line of motors 36mm? I.e. "standard" 1/10 scale motors?

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

yup they are 36mm diameter but are 4 pole and use the same huge rotor from the 15 series 8th scale motors. It would basically be 1512 power screaming on 2s in an sc truck.

Niiiice :-) I was just thinking about how to set up my 1:10 4wd buggy with some very small 3s packs in series to get 6s with a MMP, and now I know what to look for motor wise.

Thanks much

53,280 rpm on 6s... Looks like I'm waiting for more than just a Mamba XL HV to show up on tower.

Wow sweet combo. I don't know though I have come to love the 1406 motor I have. It has plenty of power for the tracks I race at on 2s and is outright balistc on 3s. Guess it depends on the driver but I find it harder to drive a 4wheel sc with too much power. My lap times are inconsistant. To each his own I guess the 1406 works so good on my setup and is lighter than my 550 motor so I'll stick with it for now.

That s pretty dumb, it should be a 4400 kv with the pro not a 2400 kv all the stupid tracks run 2s limits so we need more power on 7.4 volts altough im sure thats an amzing 3s setup its just not what we need.

Thats why I like the 4600 I can be legal.... Almost, my 1/8 tires still cause quite an uproar. I think the 2s cap should be lifted these cars are pretty heavy and it way more fun with the extra power.

Unfortunately, our rotor design is a little different the the Neu designs -- they are optimized for Wye windings, and don't make good Delta motors.

How about a 1415 .5Y? That would be about 4800Kv.

Thanx!

Patrick

The only issue I see is that the max efficiency would be around 120A or so -- would need to be run with a Mamba Monster -- the Mamba Pro wouldn't be able to handle it.

Thanx!

Would such a motor be ROAR legal for 1/10th 4x4 SCT? I've got a monster.

no it wouldnt be roar legal but it would be "2s limit" legal which is the rule 99% of tracks are following.

none of the 550s are legal either according to roar.
