Balancing NiMH? - 06.27.2007, 04:12 PM

Would there be any reason to balance a NiMH pack? Is it even possible? I have never heard of it until today. I over heard a short conversation about it possibly prolonging the life of the packs.

They make trays that do that for the side by side packs.

The only people I am aware of that do this are very competitive racers. Rarely do any bashers balance there packs. Especially when they usually run more than 6 cells, so you can't really balance them.

With this tray you can balance 8 NIMH cells at a time. If your using unmatched cells theres no need to do this in my opinion. But if your using matched cells it's worth it in my opinion. You get more punch & longer cell life . I use 2 of these on my NIMH cells

well from what I've heard the trickle charge part after the normal fast charge balances the pack.

I haven't seen that Tekin one before. I was mainly referring to the Novak one though, only being able to do 6 cells. But the Tekin one will be good for mt racers and converted truggies, etc. IMO.
