Talking Stampede Needed Love - 12.18.2007, 11:43 PM

Hi,

I've spent the last 4 months giving lots of love to my revo and working on new conversions Mugen MBX5 RSX, Jammin X1-CR, CRT .5 so I figured it was about time I take a look at the old pede where it all started for me.

Anyway there wasn't much left of the old pede once i started

Out with the old...

In with the new...
CF Chassis - With under chassis Battery tray
FLM Extended Arms Front & Rear
FLM C-Hubs
FLM Towers
Stock Trans with Steel Rim Diff and Top gear (FLM I found too heavy for me)
Nitro Front End
RPM Rear Bearing Carriers
CVD's
RPM bumper
Spektrum / MM / 4600 / 3s 5000Mah Maxamps
Z590 Servo - Need to get something faster...

Cheers!

That my friends is car of StampedeProject! It is a lowes mini paint tray!

Costs all of $4 and 30 mins with a dremel and are light but solid! The amount of abuse they take is incredible.

I gave up on regular bodied after spending $25 on a traxxas body then flipping on my first run at about 40MPH - trashed the body!

I thought what is the point... These work great and are cool in there own way! :)

Are they the stock shock? My friend and I are going to need new shocks very soon. The Stampede I have is for the kid and I though stock would do but yesterday he had a WOT head on with the drain on the side of the road and the rear shock popped off and went down the drain. Why the rear shock popped off in a head on I do not know but it was a pain retrieving it from the drain. My mate just keeps blowing the tops off on big jumps.

That is a known fault with the plastic caps - They flex too much and can break the top of the shick off - You can rebuild them with the aliminium caps and plumbers tape which stops most issues.

This pede has Traxxas Aliminium big Bores all round so the only issue I get is bent shafts...

I popped in some stiffer blue springs in the back last night too after the photo was taken...

You can also add some fuel line on the shock shaft to absorb some of the impact

Thanks. I might give those a try. And that idea with the fuel tubing would probably work too. I doubt it's worth fixing the stock ones now as they have popped so many times the threads not looking too good.

Glad you joined the club! The best body you can ever put on a bashing Stampede period. Mine is still going strong.
