If you mean those like greenbattery brand D size cells, I asked them for discharge rates, and the PDF file I got only mentions 1C, no indication as for max rate.... And they weigh 135grams each...

Do not trickle charge IB cells! If you get them full during normal charge, trickle will destroy them in a long run, because of the heat. Set trickle to 0.00.

Personally I do not like pulse chargers, linear...

Personally I do not like pulse chargers, linear works better for my IB4200's. My old pulse charger got them up to ~4100mah, and my new 989 gets them to 4400mah with same peak settings.
