The stock chevron tread tires are likely to be heavier than any tire made for racing. I don't have actual numbers, but almost anything made for racing is typically made lighter.

The most popular racing tires I've seen are ProLine BowTie and CrimeFighter (CrimeFighter is usually better), and Traxxas Response tires.
The CrimeFighter tires seem to be the best all-around.
