Don't think that's the case -- we use a silicone based dipped circuit protection (called "conformal coat") doesn't turn back liquid until 600 degrees --

Looks like something (oil, water) got in the case -- sucked in by the fan.

Ya, I've been using conformal coating for years & the only time I've seen it look like that was after the product had been dropped into dirty sea water.

after the run when I first pulled the esc out of the truck ....when i was handling the esc I could feel this oily residue on the outside of the case
