I do find it interesting, but it could be the cause of any number of things. Castle makes the ESC in large batches(thousands when first released). Many V2 ESCs were sent back for updates(or updated at Castle before sending out). Unless there was a FIFO inventory system happening(once all ESCs were V3, FIFo isn't too important - not like these things will "spoil" from sitting on a shelf), the ESCs being shipped out could be either version - and for a long period of time, depending on how quickly and how many V2 went back for updates. I use FIFo here, but I have gotten the MMM ESCs from several sources, depending on how many and how quickly I need them.

I do know we sent all our v2s back many months ago and have only had v3s for a long time(since the V3 was born). I suspect that the bullet version ESCs are few and far between at this point, and likely to be completely random. The only way to know would be to open the boxes before shipping it out(which would then create a different kind of speculation). The box surely says v3, which means it is a v3 ESC. I don't think you have anything to worry about. :)
