the 45,000 rpm limit shouldn't be seen as a negative. plenty of torque to gear up.
there is the problem, i cant gear up 63/26 is the best i have found

losi makes a 59 tooth spur but the motor cant get close enuf to mesh right (it hits the transmission) and i havent found a place that makes over 26T pinions in 6mm

Your car list shows an lst w/centre diff......? With that you can gear it for speed runs.

You can run taller tires! Pretty sure sdp-si had 6mm bore pinion gears over 30t, and just run a lst2 63t plastic spur since the sdp pinions are not hardened.

Well, I hadn't had a chance yet to get the "official" OK from Steve Neu to market the 1717 as a "Castle/Neu" design. It is now official (as of yesterday, I think.)

So the 1717 will be sold in the future as a "Castle/Neu" design.

The design is very similar to the 15 series stator, just scaled up a bit and a couple minor changes.

Yes, by scaling the stator we needed to move some iron around a bit to keep saturation levels correct in the stator iron.

You can get the tdr colleted pinion adapter with a 6mm collet and then get a 25-30t pinion gear from rcm. Use that with the 59t spur and you will have plenty of gearing options.
