i believe RC car just did a losi speed project in the latest issue using the castle conversion. i think they were geared 45/23.

(*they were also using maxamps packs, a 2650 and an mmm)

they only got to 82mph because of downforce issues. the driver said he could have gotten to 90mph with little effort, but he didn't wanna catch air at over 80mph and crash so he backed off.

it was a cool article though.

Hmm, sounds like an excuse for pack limitation...

here's a pic of one of the big pinions. it makes the 26t look silly. i did some speed runs today and was flat out impressed. i'm off to the track and will try to get some video of it tonight if we don't run out of daylight.

DCastaneda: Can you use the adaptor with ESC brakes and reverse?

It will work fine so long as you lock the pinion in place with another pinion in front if it. The gear in the 1st gear postion isn't doing anything except holding the 29T from backing out under braking

BTW: i got 105MPH today im a happy camper!

Yup what Miamiz said. Miamiz you were happy as heck when you hit 105, drag racing the buggies is definitely alot more fun that simply radaring them though.

Did you end up uploading any videos?

I want to try something like this with my 8ight. I'll start off with some smaller pinions though ;) Thanks for sharing guys.
