I have been having a similar problem lately. The mamba max in my .5 overheats after only 2-3 min of runtime with my 5000mah 3s packs. I have a 12T pinion on it. Could it be my Neu 1509-1Y (3600kv)?...

I tried a medusa 3300 on 2s in the .5 and if you gear it up is actually suprising how well it works (I regularly have a Neu 1509 in there). You can expect there to be some losses in acceleration...

For the 3300kv on 3s I like the 14t pinion. I go 12t for indoor. I like the increased runtimes of the 12t alot, and I don't even notice the speed difference. I like 5k front, 7-10k center and 3k rear...

Yea,
My 3300 really didn't like it when I used nimh batteries. It wasn't even worth driving because it seemed so underpowered (an understatement). I switched to my 4300 3s lipos and it is strong and...

Nope, just been busy job hunting. I'm sure with a little prodding Mike would make these. Its simply 14mm longer in the rear than his chassis. I am just waiting for the extended a-arms to come out...

Thanks from me as well. Mike got me some extended dogbones for my crt .5 that are exactly on spec. The project would have been a wash without Mike. Thanks for putting up with my last minute changes.

I am thinking of trying the medusa 28-32-4200V2. They seem to be good (powerful) motors. You can gear up for higher top speeds, and use the lower gear for long runtimes. With the castle or quark esc.
